Welcome to my parent coaching practice.

Relationships are fluid, and being a parent is hard. Our time will be transformational, not transactional, so you can be the change you want to see and feel as a parent.

WHY

Purpose

Your parental identity is important!

Know and feel good about your parental purpose. Feeling good about yourself as a parent is essential for your own well-being and your child’s sense of significance and belonging. Your parental identity is influenced by your core values, personal beliefs, cultural background, and societal influences. When you feel good and confident in yourself and your choices, you are better equipped to create a fulfilling and nurturing environment for you and your child.

Investing in a parent coach is an investment in yourSELF! A parent coach helps you recognize and amplify your strengths so you can set and achieve your parenting objectives, build a relationship that brings the long-term satisfaction you deserve to feel, and parent from a place of strength and gratitude. There is only one of you in this world. The more you connect with your strengths and values, the more confident and capable you will feel as a parent. Together, let’s rediscover your parental purpose, embrace your parental identity, and manifest the relationship you envision because you deserve to thrive as a parent and human!

HOW

Embrace the Process

Inquiry provokes insight!

Discover, Dream, Design, Destiny. We will use the practice of Appreciative Inquiry as a framework to guide our work together. We will do this in a co-constructive process that focuses on your strengths, curiosity, and well-being. Throughout our time together, you will discover and rediscover your and your child’s strengths, reflect on success stories, and think about the positives and possibilities. We will look to the future and envision your preferred parent-child relationship. We will focus on what is meaningful to you, set attainable goals, and identify effective strategies so you can experience feeling significance and belonging as a parent.

As your Parent Coach, I will lead from a place of curiosity to guide, support, and empower you to reach into your toolbelt and utilize the tools you have to feel valued, capable, competent, and in control of your attitude and effort. To build your capacity, we will focus on your self-care because it is an essential component for living a healthy and balanced life. Self-care and parenting require self-awareness, self-acceptance, a growth mindset, and effort. As your consultant, I will share relevant resources and help you learn and apply new strategies that align with your values and goals.

WHAT

Authenticity, Curiosity, & Connection

What you pay attention to grows!

To find and maintain joy in your life, it is important to focus on all the elements of self-care, which include physical, mental, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual well-being. Through attention to self-care, strength, and gratitude, you will experience the manifestation of your hard work and commitment. You will feel like you can lead from curiosity, be your authentic self, and deepen your connections with your child and with others.

As your parent coach, I will leave you feeling encouraged and empowered to put forth the effort to thrive intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally. You will find your parental purpose, recognize challenges as growth opportunities, and have the strength and courage to access and use your tools and resources as needed.

WHY ME?

I’ve got you.

Let’s connect!

My coaching process is co-constructive, and my leadership style complements a collaborative work approach. An active and attentive listener, I know how to engage, interpret, and respond to situations in a way that establishes mutual understanding and respect.

I know when to lead and when and how to provide opportunities for others to excel. As an educator, I understand when and how to share tools and resources that help an individual gain confidence in themself and have fun in the process. I am an empath, and one of my greatest strengths is being able to listen, inspire, empower, and connect with people. This is evident in the testimonials from parents I have coached from diverse backgrounds all over the country.

As a parent of two teens and as an educator for over 25 years, I have many strategies and tangible tools to support you throughout our time together to support your feeling competent, capable, and connected as a parent.

Parent of a 13-year-old and a 9-year-old, Philadelphia, PA

“Allison has an incredible way of opening up your perspective not only on parenting tactics but how we view our children… each of them as an individual, as a person, who is wholly connected to us. She provided me the ability to understand how my own personality relates to specific parenting styles and tactics and use that to my advantage. Most importantly, she imparts inspiration for every facet of life… not just parenting but self-care as well, which I felt was above and beyond. She will be in your corner but also provides positive accountability. I was energized and ready to tackle anything after my time with Allison!”

Parent of a 13-year-old, NYC

“Working with Allison was the gift I didn’t know I needed!! Every session was more enlightening than the last. It was unexpected in the best of ways as it seemed to open up a part of my life that was needing attention. I started working with her after my 13-year-old son went away to WTC and then to TBS, and I was very raw. It was wonderful being able to focus and be grounded during our sessions and afterward. Sorting through a lot of the mess that had clouded me over the months when my son was struggling at home. While Allison’s work is not solely on parents with kids in treatment, I found her nurturing, warm and compassionate. Just what I needed at that time. I often refer back to the summaries to remind myself of what we covered and to get a refresher. I was so grateful to be able to work with Allison!”

Parents of 15-year-old, Dallas, TX

“We are so lucky and blessed to have partnered with Allison Draizin. Our weekly coaching session made us not just better parents but better spouses and people.

She is incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful. We still look back at her weekly summary sometimes when we feel we are slipping back into old habits.

If your child went through WTC, you need this coaching with Allison. She is incredibly kind about working around our schedule. We cannot thank Allison enough for giving us tools to help our son grow.”

Parent of an 18-year-old and 21-year-old, New Haven, CT

“Allison Draizin encompasses everything a great coach should be: empathic, supportive, creative, and extremely knowledgeable.  I left each of our coaching sessions feeling heard and understood, and with clear and actionable ideas about what I could do that would enhance my growth as a parent, partner, and professional.  Allison’s work is grounded in years of experience (both personal and professional), as well as in science, and the time and engagement she shares with her clients is a true gift.  I thoroughly enjoyed my coaching sessions with Allison!”

Parent of three children ages 11, 13, and 15, Washington, DC Metro area

Coaching with Allison really helped propel me toward the next step in my journey as the parent of a neurodiverse teenager–from despair to hope! It meant a lot that she could identify with my struggles because of her own experience as a parent. She offered a depth of knowledge and so many practical tools that I could put into practice right away. She helped me identify my strengths and see areas where change and growth is possible as I walk with my child toward the future we are building together.

Parent of 17 and 20-year-old, Step-parent of 22-year-old, Seattle, WA

I can’t say enough about Allison as an amazing parent coach. I worked with her for three months while we were working through a difficult transition with my son. Her thoughtful questions and open-minded approach helped me work through my priorities as a parent and led me to make value-based and intentional decisions about my parenting style during a tough time. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs an experienced, knowledgeable, and supportive parent coach.
